Nestled in the heart of Brooklyn’s vibrant Williamsburg neighborhood, Lobster Joint is a seafood lover’s haven that masterfully blends classic American flavors with an unmistakable coastal charm. Located at 1073 Manhattan Ave, this cozy yet lively spot invites guests to indulge in some of the city’s most celebrated lobster-centric creations, all while enjoying a welcoming and relaxed atmosphere that feels like a seaside escape without leaving Brooklyn.
The cuisine here centers around fresh, sumptuous lobster and seafood offerings, elevating beloved American dishes with generous portions of high-quality ingredients. Among the standout menu items, the Lobster Grilled Cheese shines brightly — imagine rich, gooey cheddar melting alongside sweet, tender chunks of lobster, all pressed between perfectly grilled bread. It’s a decadent marriage of textures and flavors, accompanied by crispy, golden fries that add the perfect savory crunch. Equally beloved is the Maine Lobster Roll, which delivers a dense, juicy bite packed with succulent lobster meat that bursts with fresh ocean sweetness, served on a griddled bun with a crisp pickle on the side. It’s no surprise several loyal patrons consider it one of the best lobster rolls in New York City.
Beyond lobster rolls and grilled cheese, the menu offers comforting variety with classics like the Cheeseburger featuring a half-pound Angus patty loaded with fresh lettuce, tomato, and onion, all nestled in a griddled bun. The Tuna Melt also impresses with creamy tuna salad crowned by melted white cheddar, creating an equally satisfying lunch option. For those with a sweeter tooth, the Ice Cream Sandwich — a delightful combination of chocolate chip cookies and vanilla ice cream — is a perfect end to your seaside feast.
Guests repeatedly praise the restaurant’s inviting vibe, which strikes an appealing balance between casual comfort and a vibrant "eating in the rough" shore-like feel. The charming decor adds to the experience, making it a welcoming spot whether you drop in for a quick sandwich or a more leisurely meal. Service is consistently described as warm and attentive, enhancing the sense that you’re in the hands of a team who truly care about your dining pleasure.
While almost every dish delights, some honest feedback celebrates the highlights — such as Nic Garcia’s excitement over the lobster grilled cheese and lobster roll — while also appreciating transparency about occasional misses like the lobster mac n cheese, which did not meet expectations in texture. This thoughtful approach to feedback underscores the restaurant’s commitment to quality and customer satisfaction.
Pair your meal with one of their specialty beverages, and if you’re a fan of cocktails, their famously crafted Lobster Claw Bloody Mary promises a refreshing twist on a classic favorite, as discovered by delighted visitors at various festivals.
For anyone who treasures fresh seafood presented in a straightforward yet indulgent way, Lobster Joint is an essential stop in Brooklyn. Its generous portions, authentic flavors, and genuine hospitality combine to create a memory-worthy dining experience that stands out in a city saturated with food options. Whether you’re craving a dense lobster roll that fills you up or a soulful grilled cheese that soothes the spirit, Lobster Joint ensures each bite is filled with satisfaction and seaside delight.
the lobster grilled cheese is divine. lots of lobster meat, lots of gooey cheese. definitely a winner, comes with fries. the maine lobster roll is also really good, one of the better ones in the city. i was so excited to try the lobster mac n cheese, and it was awful. it was hot on the edges, but it was still cold and hard in the middle. i took one bite and couldn’t eat anymore. the waitress was very kind, and happily gave me something else instead. it’s one of the only times i’ve ever sent food back. they took care of it, and the other food i’ve had here has all been delicious.
Came for their specialty lobster roll and never regret. Huge portions of lobster fill up the bun and all other dishes they have are fantastic! Appropriate pricing, staff are friendly and helpful. Will come back again for sure.
The lobster rolls here are ridiculously tasty! I thought the roll looked small to be honest, but it was so dense. So much lobster in every bite! I felt so full with just one roll and french fries and corn on the cob. So tasty, I will be back soon
I first discovered this place at The Bloody Mary Festival recently. Since I really enjoyed their festival winning traditional Bloody Mary, I wanted to try out the food. As soon as you walk in this cute little place, you are immediately drawn to the decor and atmosphere. My server Nikki was warm, welcoming, and helpful. The food and, of course...the Lobster Claw Bloody Mary was really good. My Crab Cake Benedict was tasty, and the eggs were poached perfectly. The Clam Chowder had the right amount of salt and flavor. They have a pretty decent sized menu, and the prices, in my opinion, are reasonable. I really enjoyed my experience and will be sure to visit again the next time I am in the Greenpoint area.
The vibe is shore like “eating in the rough” while in Brooklyn. Stopped in for a late lunch and found the atmosphere very relaxed and conducive to enjoying a delicious meal. The Lobster Corn Chowder was served first and the flavors were true and not overly seasoned. Many generous sized chunks of whole lobster meat which included whole claw meat chunks. Served at a medium warm temp, which would have been a bit warmer for my liking. The Connecticut Lobster Roll came out and first impressions were “wow” & “where’s the rest”... the lobster roll was very tasty with warm lobster meat, with just the right amount of butter! They might consider a side of potato chips, slaw or something else to fill the small tray. Of course that idea cuts into the bottom line, so it’s understood they need to pay the rent. This is a really nice option for lobster lovers who would rather have someone else do the cooking!
Wow came here with a date and the lobsters here are so delicious and buttery. Staffs are friendly and attentive. I recommend definitely sitting outside on the picnic table and also ha e to try the lobster here. Atmosphere feel cozy and lovely. Overall new favorite place and definitely coming back soon.
